THURSDAY, September 28th — The Florence Flamingos have announced their 2024 schedule.

 

Opening day is a week earlier than the 2023 season; The team opens up with a three game homestand starting Thursday, May 23rd against the Macon Bacon. The Mingos will face the Wilson Tobs on Saturday, and the Lexington County Blowfish on Monday before three games on the road.

 

“I am so excited for the upcoming season,” says team president, Mitchell Lister. “Going into my second year with the team, I’ve been able to work with both my staff and the league to schedule some great games with amazing theme nights for our fans.”

 

For the first time since 2021, the team will be playing the Holly Springs Salamanders. Those games will be held June 3rd and June 27th at home, at July 25th on the road.

 

Two other new opponents for the Flamingos include the HP-Thomasville HiToms and the Forest City Owls. Forest City is the host of the Coastal Plain League’s All-Star Game, which will be held July 7th-9th.

 

The home season will conclude on July 26th, with the Flamingos’ final game being played on Saturday the 27th in Macon. Petitt Cup Playoffs begin Sunday, July 28th and will continue throughout that week.

The Flamingos are switching to the West Division in the CPL this season. Their new divisional rivals include the Lexington County Blowfish, Forest City Owls, Macon Bacon, Asheboro Zookeepers, Boone Bigfoots, Martinsville Mustangs and HP-Thomasville HiToms. 32 of the teams’ 50 games are against West Division opponents.
